La Grande Maison

La Grande Maison is beautifully restored and  combines the charm of an old French country house with all the comforts of modern living.  The house is set in the peaceful hamlet of Gresignac and enjoys spectacular views over the surrounding countryside.

La Grande Maison is stone built with limestone floors throughout the ground floor.  It has been renovated creatively to a very high standard and can sleep up to 10 guests.  Large doors lead from a front garden and terrace area with adjacent parking to a large and airy entrance salon with a wood burning stove, open staircase to the first floor and spectacular stone walls and wooden beams.

Leading off from the entrance salon is the large and generously equipped  kitchen which opens directly on to the level terrace and the rear garden.  The kitchen has a SMEG range cooker, a fridge/freezer, a combination microwave and a dishwasher.  A washing machine and tumble dryer are in the laundry room which leads off from the kitchen.  The dining area adjoins the kitchen. 

There is a huge comfortable lounge on the ground floor with stylish Le Cobusier furniture. It has a spectacular open fireplace and and also houses a TV, video, DVD and a high quality NAD stereo system.

The ground floor also has a very large double bedroom with French windows which open directly on to the rear garden level terrace. There is sufficient clearance under the king sized bed to allow the use of a hoist (a Porta 150 electric hoist is available by arrangement). This bedroom has a large en suite bathroom with bath, wheel-in shower, toilet with handgrips and a hand basin which has sufficient clearance for wheelchair users.

We are planning to install a lift to the first floor – but this will not be installed before 2009.

The first floor has three double bedrooms.  The first has a king sized bed and a substantial en suite bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin.  The second bedroom has a king sized bed and the third has twin beds.  The third bathroom has a bath, washbasin and toilet.  On the first floor there is also a large, comfortable mezzanine area with a high quality stereo system. A selection of videos, DVDs and books are provided. There are wooden floors, old beams and gorgeous stone walls throughout!

La Grande Maison has large gardens surrounding the house. A level terrace provides a comfortable area for eating al fresco and for relaxing and enjoying the views. Outside dining furniture and a barbeque are provided.
